Corporate Skills Development: Leadership and Management Skills Boot Camp

Course Overview:
This workshop is designed for those that have been newly appointed to the role of manager or supervisor and need to boost their obvious technical skills to the next level. The next level requires that you get work done by others. To be able to do this well you’ll rely less on your technical skills and much more on your conceptual skills (planning, organizing) and on your human interaction skills.
Target audience:
This workshop will be of interest to individuals who’ve been successful in the past because of their specific job-related skills and now find that their new positions require a skill set that requires getting others that report to them engaged in solutions, problems and moving forward. .
In this workshop participants will:
- Identify their new role in the organization and know where they fit.
- Examine the three skills sets that every manger or supervisor practices.
- Boost their conceptual skills by learning how the planning function operates and their part in that function.
- Plan at the operational level in response to the strategic direction of their organization.
- Get people to care about their jobs and make them want to do their very best.
- Delegate to increase the limits of their abilities.
- Direct successful task accomplishment.
- Correct performance shortfalls.
- Make a difference in the work place by moving beyond their management or supervisory role into a leadership role.
- Give people the information that they need and in the way they need to hear it.
- Solve problems, address issues, and manage difficult employees.
