Mark Shepherd has delivered Microsoft Windows and Office applications computer training and consulting for public- and private-sector clients for over 15 years.
As a Certified Microsoft Office 2007 Applications Specialist Master and course content designer/developer, he brings a high-level of knowledge and accessibility to the classroom.
Professional Experience
Mark has long-standing end-user and technical training experience with numerous Ottawa-area computer training companies.
His experience also includes work in the computer seminar world, where he served as a Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Access expert as well as an acknowledged web-site and XML development expert, delivering sessions throughout Canada and the north-east United States.
Mark has also advised and consulted for a diverse range of public and private organizations, including Transport Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Agriculture Canada, Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Mitel, and Crosskeys.
Mr. Shepherd has completed numerous government contracts, focusing on technical writing and manual upgrades, as well as Microsoft SharePoint Server computer-based e-training, along with authoring numerous course outlines and complete training manuals on topics such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access, and XHTML/CSS web design.
His background and work focus orients primary around accessibility, effective use of and best practices for Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Access, and is an acknowledged Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Microsoft Project and Project Server.
Mark holds an Honours B.A. in Communications from Carleton University, is a Microsoft Office 2007 Certified Applications Specialist Master, and has achieved instructional certification in project management theory from the International Business Training Association.
Personal
Mark's personal interests involve the arts, movies and music, through his participation in the Capital City Chorus, a long-standing and highly-ranked and regarded men's a-capella barbershop chorus. Through his work with the chorus over the past 10 years, Mark has participated in the renovation of the Ottawa Boys and Girls' Club Camp Smitty in Eganville, ON, as well as participating in fundraising for youth suffering from stuttering and aphasia for Harmonize for Speech (H4S), and has competed with his chorus at the World-International level of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
